Welcome to Development Research and Training
Development Research and Training (DRT),was  established  in 1997, as Ugandan Non-Profit Organisation to undertake Policy Research and Analysis in Uganda and other East African countries. DRT promotes institutional capacity building, micro and macro analysis and also promotes policy  engagement  on a wide range of social, political and economic issues in Uganda and neighbouring countries. DRT further undertakes research that seeks to deepen  the understanding  of Chronic Poverty  and Vulnerabilty (CPV) and to make poverty eradication policy interventions more effective. Additionally DRT works with actors at national, district and lower-level structures, to increase understanding of existing policies and to influence institutions and structures that shape people's lives.

To contribute to poverty reduction through research, capacity building and policy engagement.

Our Goal 

To have in place, evidence based pro-poor policies aiming  to achieve atleast a 10% reduction of the propotion of people living in chronic poverty by 2015.
